Toughest machine ever made. We had one when I was growing up. I would literally try to tear it up, like drive it in 2nd gear wide open for miles, run over trees etc. I gave up before ole blue did.

I have a 2001 Honda Rancher 350 electronic shift that has 4500 miles on it and still runs like a champ. Never had a single problem with it other than replacing the air filter and battery.

I've got a 96 Honda Foreman 400 that is an absolute workhorse. I got it when I was a teenager so I obviously did a lot of dumb shite to it. it was a beast In the hills of Mississippi and it's still a beast on the farm today

If you want something reliable that will always work, get a Honda. If you have to have more power than a 500 foreman (yea right) get a Yamaha grizzly. They seem to be about the most reliable of the big bikes.

If you're a young kid who likes pissing away money and has to have the biggest baddest machine with huge tires and hood rat rims and don't really care if it's broke all the time and want to finance it for 15 years, get one of those can am/Kawasaki/Polaris monstrosities.

Well I finally got out to go look at all of the mid range ATV's yesterday. The Honda was actually the least impressive, but reliability is there. The Can-Am was the most impressive, but I don't know a single person who owns one. I have no idea how reliable they are. I decided to go with the Yamaha Kodiak 700. It's got the power of the Can-Am and "almost" the reliability of the Honda. Every manufacturer had something I liked. There was no perfect bike.

Kodiak 700 with EPS. Got it for $8k with a free 2 year warranty. The one without Power Steering is around $7k.

The kodiak is basically a 2007 model grizzly.

It's a great bike and that's a very fair price.

As for anything past 500cc, it is a tossup in reliability between the yamaha 700 single and the polaris 800 twin.

Both are great bikes.
