I've been begging Conoco to do that on our place for years. CWPRA is doing some further south, but this stretch of shoreline is getting hammered from both sides, boat traffic on one, waves on the other. The high tides we just had over top it, then I get bass holes in jump boats making new cuts.

Those are called "duck wing" terraces. They are created to break up the wind driven waves and promote shallow water habitat. Notice they are facing southeast, which is the direction of the prevailing wind.

Thank you

he's not even an outfitter. He just does it to have money to blow on and have the best of everything.
He's the ones who camp I'm always going to for fishing in Hackberry.

Don't know, but I used to duck hunt and fish just a tad bit to the west of that picture at Gum Cove on the Black Bayou Oil Field. You can scroll up and see the old camp and the horseshoe driveway. Those days are gone forever!

Friend of mine leases out all the land around here. He's mega rich dude and duck hunts like a madman out here. Has irrigation pumps that connect to the Intracoastal.
Those ponds in my link have a shite ton of bass in them. You can see the little bateaus there on the bank we go out in all the time.
There's awesome deer hunting there as well.

Does your friends name begin with a P and end with an O? BTW, those ponds back up to my uncle's old lease that was on the Black Bayou Oil Field. I've killed more ducks and caught more fish on that lease than any place I've ever hunted or fished. Killed my first duck there, gray duck, in November 1972.

This. These are all over open water areas in SW LA. All DU terraces are shaped like those in the imagery. Other funding sources generally just make straight lines.

They are terraces. Basis behind them is weigon grass/duck feed/marsh grass need water clarity to thrive. So to aid that, in open water they install the terraces.

More restoration? I think you can count on that if that's what you are referring to.
