I think I missed that thread. That's a great first buck. My first buck was a little 7 point when I was 12 and I've been hooked ever since.

I couldnt believe it when that deer came out. I told him anything within 150 yards he could shoot. What do ya know he came out at only 40 yards!

Love that Buck. How wide is it?

If he differs from your other mounts, I would definitely shoulder mount. You'll regret it one day if you dont.

There's a place by our camp in Mississippi that will do it for $230 but that's really cheap

Damn. I'd need to see a lot of deer that had been mounted there and have my good friends or something be very happy with the deer they had gotten from this place for that price. It could happen, but that is so far below average that they must be doing a cheap job, if you see what I'm saying. When it comes to a mount, if I'm proud enough of my deer to mount it, and I will be proud of it if I mount it, I will pay top dollar to make sure it is done by a reputable taxidermist. Between 4 or 5 is not that bad to have something on your wall for the rest of your life that you will be proud of, especially if it's done right. Kudos to the guy charging cheap if he does a good job

He does an ok job, we have to mount all bucks taken from that property so it can get expensive mounting one a year @ $450. I don't hang them in my house so it really doesn't matter.

Great buck pro-style.

He would make a perfect bookend to my SC 9 pt.

(Of course mine was only 19 7/8 inside)
