Friday went to Henderson...caught 6 nice bass and an monster choupic...

Went back Saturday and noticed two the huge concrete barricades at the end of the landing on the north side were knocked over and moved some 12 or 15'...sheen on the water and debris...the article was in the paper this morning that not long before I got there, it is believed, a lady and kids took the landing road thinking it was the entrance ramp for the interstate... and hit the barricade, went over it and into the water at the landing...sadly she didn't make it...the kids did...
LINK

This morning late I went back and caught 7 and a gar...all were released...

Fished a club tournament with one of my podnahs (he's in the club, not me) at Millers lake Saturday. 6 bass all day. We each caught 3. I ended up catching a 5 lbs 12 oz fish with about 2 hours of fishing left. We got second in total weight and took big bass. Fishing was slow, but we still had a good day.

There was also a high school tournament on Saturday. The bass were getting hammered that day.

ETA: I heard there was a dead body found near the Butte Larose launch in Henderson. Didn't know it was an accident. Poor woman. Hope the kids have a good father or someone to take care of them.

She definitely surprised us. Barely felt her bite, but when I set the hook, oh boy! Very dark fish. Pretty though.

Hopefully I'll be in the Bend in a few weeks. Same guy wants me to fish a tourney over there in March.

2 man limit of reds Saturday in leeville. After our limit I pulled the fly rod out and landed my 1st 2nd and 3rd red on a fly rod. I was so excited I went back by myself and caught a limit on Sunday. Nothing better than sight casting reds. Red smashing bait

I wouldn't mind a massive bass like yours to put on the wall either...

Sat afternoon we kept 6 bass, released several nice fish, but overall pretty slow. Must have been all the tournament fishermen running thru lease that morning. Yesterday am limit of bass, 8 crappie, a bunch of chiquapin, a red and a 15lb catfish on swim jig. Went back yesterday afternoon and got the crappies dialed in and got another 30/35 on ice. Went frogging last night, stopped when we starred having issues closing sack. Someone has a long day ahead of them. About to crank up and get another limit of green trout before wind gets too bad.

Took my young son sight fishing Delacroix for his birthday, caught 8 or 10 reds and a couple bass.
Way less boats than normal for a Saturday, had the place mostly to ourselves, except for a seaplane practicing landing in front of us. Cool at first then annoying as hell after about the 3rd time.
We saw about 4 to 5 times more fish than we caught, they were stubborn all day, but he had a blast.

Also took him to the baseball game yesterday, I know this is the first weekend and a below average opponent, but this LSU team is GOOOOOD.

My buddy and I caught 21+lbs for 10am with our best 5 in Lake Des Allemands Saturday morning. Biggest was 5.80lbs he caught on a lizard. Was a fun day for sure!

Solo hunt Saturday morning. Not great, but still fun. Had to do a little work in the pm.
Sunday afternoon went to the Red and caught 8 non-picworthy perch. Kept 5. Found a massive brand new top where an old one got blown out last year. I'll thank the installer if he ever sees me camped there this year - it's gonna be good.
All around good trip until panic set in at dark. Got beached on a sand bar 3 miles from the launch, but I made it off.

I wish the quail population would rebound, I used to love hunting them.

And eating them
