Pickup at the berge and first stop was the ppg flat west of 210. 3 reds and 1 flat fish on gulps. Wind was blowing like 2.5 fa*s in a sack and we proceeded down the Chanel to haymark to zero. Ended with 6 reds, the one flat & 24 empty cans. Beotch of a day but our crew was happy.

How nasty is the water on that side of the state? Still chocolate milk?

Water looks pretty good to be as fresh as it is. River is dropping daily and the se wind has water pushed up into parking lot of 210 north launch. I waded 2’ to hook up boat today and it was dry at 5 am in the lot.

Man, i just moved to the LC area, and went looking for reds a few times with no luck. Got a 16ft flat bottom w a 25 on the back. Any pointers would be appreciated. As far as a report goes, i didnt go this week, but last weekend, pillage and i took on a fair amount of rain in my little boat, and only one little bass. It was another disappointing trip to the pool. That would make three or four bad trips there so far this year.

50 or so nice trout off Fourchon Beach this morning. Couldn’t find a red to save our lives.

Bad news: didn’t catch shite

Good news: didn’t break anything, motor ran great and I remembered to apply sunscreen in morning and lunch.

Anytime the boat gets put up in the same condition as before it left, its a good day

Drive down and launch in hackberry. Most of your tour guides live there bc the fishing is closer. You’ll def get on some fish there and will be short boat rides for your rig.

Thats where i went my last trip. The launch south of the west cove canal launch, and went right, under the highway. Saw a ton of action in the water, but couldnt get a bite. Ended up with 5 dozen crab instead haha

Reverse that story and you'd be in the dog house for months.

Sounds like fishing was on fire mid week, then went bad with all the wind over weekend. Buddy caught 120 Wednesday to Friday and then got skunked Saturday. All south bank of lake.

Yeah I was just looking at Kevin Broussard’s post on FB, it pretty much mirrors what you said. Had to switch to reds due to wind.

Rolled the dice for reds Friday afternoon due to building delays wind. Guys who went caught trout but the ride home was a bit bumpy.
