Want to build a boat lift

Boat is roughly 3000 lbs dry
20' 8"
My slip is roughly 11x17
Where can I get plans to build a lift to suit my needs. (On the cheap too)
Where do I get old telephone poles locally and who can drive the pilings into the water locally and what is the going rate per pole?
O yea and the slip can't be accessed from land...would have to be a floating barge.

Piling lift or boat house lift?
Posted on 3/18/14 at 4:56 pm to wickowick
He wants a boat house lift according to the other thread. Sounds like he wants to do himself, but needs the pilings driven.

But he needs the lift also. Going to need 4 poles 16-20' long plus the lift. He can probably save $500-$1k to install the lift himself but he is still looking at ~$7500. I haven't priced them lately. I used to keep up with the pricing on the river. If he goes with the piling lift he can add an aluminum cover later for $2k...

Ahh gotcha. Those lifts in the pics look like almost the same thing. the second looks like a piling lift with a roof built on top.
The boat house lifts I've seen are like this, with the supports running perpendicular to the boat (as opposed to parallel:

The boat house lifts are cheaper, but building the boat house cost more overall. With the piling lift you only need the pilings, then hardwire the electrical and you are good to go...

This is exactly right.
2500 to get the barge out and $500 per piling?
Is that an accurate quote?

Where is your place located?

Not an accurate quote but what I was told for my marsh camp. It's probably cheaper where the op is.

Camp is located off Chinquapin/Swan street just past Val's Marina
