ETA: I posted a thread on here Saturday when I got tired of not catching anything hoping you would see it.

I replied in that post mentioning that I saw Meauxjeaux post about a big day out there. I'm willing to bet he was near where I said... Awaiting his reply.

First time fishing bayou bienvenue for me

Thought we were going to witness a "meet me at the dock" scene when a boat pulled into another's spot (was literally directly on top of where he had been catching fish every cast for an hour), dropped anchor, had to restart boat a few times bc it wouldn't catch, then decided to leave

Few minutes later another boat does the same shite and guy got so pissed he just pulled up anchor and took off

Eta: in the end all that exchanged was words and casts at engines

Delcaroix has been crazy. Went a few days after Christmas. no less than 15 boats in a straight line in Skippy Bay. I think every single boat left with a limit. We were fishing with Vudu shrimp and Green Hornent Matrix. Some nice fish, though it seemed our bigger fish came from the root beer colored Vudu.

That's G.W.'s SCB, he's an LSU Graduate! Fishes most of the Redfish tournaments with his brother. Too bad he won more tournaments with his slower Sterling!

Yeah, going south in Pencil Pipeline its the last bay before Oak River. Can't miss it you and everyone else will be in there. Not as crazy as Oak River because you can actually move around pretty good if needed.

I spend all of 20 minutes in there, not even as close as 100 yards to the next boat. There were maybe 12 boats in there and the pickins were slim. Was pretty cool to be catching under a cork in January though.

A quick GOPRO video of the insane Redfish bite we got on.
That's me in the grey windbreaker with the beard.

My son wearing the same beanie as me.

If you start striking out try trolling with some rattletraps in 12-14' in Oak river close to the bay. Iused to use chrome and blue/chrome. They are sluggish and the bite is hard to feel at first but once you get used to it is is on like a chicken bone. Used to catch a bunch od 2-4# fish.

The bite feels like you went through a weed, but if you don't feel it right off the bat you will see the line moving sideways or the fish will come to the surface sometimes.
