It may work, and it's certainly better than a sharp stick, but I'd prefer something with a little more arse behind it, if you know what I'm sayin

Agreed, but it comes up sometimes, the video addresses that and the ballistics results of the .22 Stinger round

What is really interesting to me is the extra penetration from a lack of velocity. Wouldnt believe it if I didnt see it

Most people could probably accurately put about 15 .22 rounds in somebody faster than they could 2 .45s in them.

Its funny because I think about it all the time...what would I do if the front door got kicked it.

I have several gun including pistols, rifles, shotguns, AR platforms..etc.

Im not a bad shot with my glock 45 but I honestly think that I would pick up my little AR15-22.

Ive got 2 kids on the other side of the house from me that I would hate to send a 45 through 4 walls and hit one of them and the 22 has laser sights, 25 rounds "clip" LOL, mounted flashlight...etc. I honestly feel like putting ten 22 bullets in a dude within about 5 seconds would be sufficient. And I wouldnt run as high of a risk of hitting someone that I didnt want to hit.

That gel is bullshite. Need to use something more dense that will react more like flesh.

A .22 LR launched from a pistol is not going to pass through 16" of flesh.

Hell, a 40 grain solid point launched from a rifle won't go through a human.

Fine, since you're gonna whine about it, I watched the video. Good info. His theory makes sense too. Lower velocity=not enough energy to deform the bullet/expand

Ok, Im back after watching the video.... my previous post is still my answer. I dont have a 22 pistola so it really isnt an option in my situation...but if I did have a 22 handgun, it would never cross my mind to grab that over any of my other handguns.

The only reason I think that I would grab the 15-22 is because of the COMBINED pros of laser, flashlight, lower possibility of passing through walls, ability to sling 25 at him, lower recoil for better accuracy...etc. But if you take the majority of those pros away (which you likely would with a 22 pistol....then there is no way I would grab that piece in a door kick in situation.

After years of work as an emergency room doctor, the main issue with any load is placement, placement, and you guessed it..placement. I've seen gang bangers shot dead with .25's that were center shots into the heart. I've also seen a 400 pound guy get shot with a FMJ 7.62 x 39 in the abdomen that drove himself to the ER- the round entered his blubber near the belly button and exited at an angle on the side without ever penetrating his abdominal cavity.
Shoot the largest caliber you can safely and accurately. Practice with life sized target and drills (Mozambique, etc.), until you are proficient. If that means you use a .22, so be it. I currently am carrying a S&W model 15 with hard cast WC bullets. Any caliber CAN be useful if used properly.

Not trolling this time.

.22LR ain't gonna pass through 16" of human like that gel indicates.

A 40 grain solid point is going to yaw and stay inside.
