Venice tuna report?

Anybody catching yellowfins in venice? Going sunday with mexican gulf fishing co.

friend of mine fished with MGFC last week , caught 2 hundred pound YFT and a 60 lbs fish

they were fishing 90 miles out of Venice

Man thats a long way for a day trip. Hope they start moving in soon. They should b behind the shrimp boats in the nxt month. Thx

Went 2 weeks ago and didn't do shite. 1 small yellowfin and an amberjack.

Down here now, not much to report sorry to say. Boats 2-3 yellowfin with a few other fish mixed in across the board from what I saw.

Ended up with 8 yft's biggest 95lbs
And 4 nice dorados. Biggest bull at 30 lb

Awesome time with capt jordan ellis. Highly recommended.

Venice marina hit us up for fuel @ 3.60 a gallon.

You got lucky, it was $3.70 a couple weekends ago. I understand the premium for ethanol free gas, but how in the hell can they justify a $1.60 premium?

I guess the lack of competition really screws with things down there......if there really is that much markup sounds like a great time to open up a fuel dock down there.

permits probably controlled by govt, govt probably controlled by current business owners

The markup in general down there is crazy even when buying fuel for your truck. Gas is usually $.50+ a gallon higher at pumps (not ethanol free) and even higher at the marinas. I've heard them say it due to extra costs in getting it down there which I know is BS. I worked for a fuel distributor (who also has a large fuel dock down there) and it doesn't cost $2,500+ a truck to get fuel down there.
