Venice fishing

Hello all. A few friends and I are looking to fish around Venice on Saturday but none of us have been to the area. Not asking for any honey holes of course. Main concern is places that are safe to run. I have an 18ft aluminum xpress mod v hull and another friend is bringing his ankona skiff so I feel like crossing the miss is out of the question. Any info on the area is greatly appreciated. TIA

With those boats and wanting to not venture into the river stop at Buras or Empire. To fish Venice really need to cross or run down the river.

Empire would be a better bet. The winds on Saturday will be out of the east so you should have some protection on that side of the river.

Buras is also on the west side. It has a launch on both sides of the river. Joshua's in Buras and Empire give you access to the same areas just a few miles apart.
