Heading to Venice for a Friday fishday before heading to BR for LSU-Arky. Marsh and pass fishing. Has anyone been lately? Any reports would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Headed there Friday and Saturday as well, got a bad report due to the weather last weekend, but we are goong anyway. River came up and we are going anyway, duck hunters will be everywhere, winds are hard from the NE... we are going anyway.

Fished with Rok with Venice Guide Service last Wednesday. Fished the east side, and caught 18 reds between 4 of us. No trout on that trip, but he has been on the trout like crazy since then.

Have been catching redfish, but have been struggling on trout. I am convinced trout could be found in deep spots under the freshwater in the river but I haven't found them yet....

I'll be there I'll post up if we find them, of course ducks will be main focus.

not personally. We were killing them everywhere about three weeks ago... then the river went up .7' all it took to shut it off.

10-4.
If you see 3 guys in a Pathfinder with bucket seats instead of a leaning post, come swap fish stories.

Headed for the camp down there on Thursday evening. Blast and cast for 3 days. We have been catching bass consistently. Trout are not in their normal winter spots since we have had no cold front to push them into the river hard. Some are still being caught at Breton Island which is very abnormal for this time of year. Trout and reds have been hit or miss over the last 3 weeks.

Of course if anyone wants to swing by the camp and have a cold one the door is always open! LSUengr don't think I'll be south by you but never know...

With the winds that are predicted that's not an option this weekend.

Hopefully this bad wind forecast keeps more people up river! Apparently, there were a few people in the WMA last weekend...

They have to be jumping in the boat for us to go out there even if the weather is great. That is a 26 mile run from the camp. That was a third party report.
