I know there's a big thread about RTIC right now but that's sale related. Here's an update from RTIC describing changes to their products and information about new products...

quote:

RTIC is excited to announce more details on the Company’s rollout of its new 2017 product line.

The Company plans to sell its remaining 2016 Models for the next few months and then launch our 2017 Models on or before May 1, 2017, in time for the summer season. We will continue to offer on our website many items at a discount of up to 30%, while supplies last. Upon the launch of the 2017 Summer Product Line, we will return to our regular everyday low pricing, keeping true to our promise to deliver "Over Built – Not Over Priced" products.

RTIC's new product line will have the same high level of quality and will include new and highly desired features:

Our coolers will include a Dual Drain Plug System which will allow easier operation. The new coolers will include two drain plugs. An oversized drain plug on one side of the cooler to allow faster and easier draining and a standard size drain plug on the other side with an integrated vacuum relief valve to allow easier opening of the cooler lid by reducing the pressure inside the cooler when the plug is pressed.
The RTIC 20 will now include a molded-in divider slot inside the cooler to allow you to easily separate and organize your contents.
Our tumblers will have a new more modern look allowing them to fit more cup holders while maintaining their extraordinary insulating properties of keeping drinks cold for up to 60 hours.
Our bottles will allow you have great filtered water when you want it utilizing the all new RTIC integrated filtration system giving you healthier, great-tasting water. All our filters and containers will be BPA-free and remove contaminants and unpleasant odors.
New Products:
Products Coming in Summer 2017 include a 145 quart cooler, the new laser etched logo, the light blue cooler, the RTIC Water Resistant Duffle Bag, Tall Boy, V-Shape Stackable Pint Tumblers, Water Bottles, a 40 oz. Tumbler, New cup holder friendly Handles, Food Containers, Additional Sport Bottles and the exclusive RTIC Water Filtration System for select RTIC drinkware.

So, keep an eye out for the many new and exciting products coming in the Summer 2017!

Just throwing out an option if he wants wheels... I'm not saying one is better than the other...

This market is getting oversaturated, this dump of product will be the last straw before companies start to fold and the market contracts...

I agree it's over saturated... And only getting more so... Member's Mark? Really?

But I don't think we've reached that pinnacle yet. Still way too many people out there willing to spend the $$$. Not me. Aside from some tumblers, I'll only ever own one of these molded coolers if one is gifted to me. I can't see myself dropping the $$ on one unless a tremendous deal comes up, like even more tremendous than the RTIC sell off.

Sam's now has the top zipper bags. Those open WAY better than my high dolla Yeti. May get one to dedicate to yak fishing and keep the Hopper for cleaner uses.

RTIC about to put Yeti out of business

Yeti just won the lawsuit vs RTIC. RTIC is screwed now.

quote:

The settlement calls for RTIC Coolers to make a financial payment to Yeti, to cease sales of all products subject to the lawsuit – which includes hard-sided coolers, soft-sided coolers and drinkware — and to redesign all products in question, according to a news release from Yeti. The company did not release the amount of the financial payment, and said it would have no additional comment on the settlement. “We are extremely pleased with the results we have achieved. We will continue to defend our innovation and intellectual property. This is a true win,” CEO Matt Reintjes said in a written statement.

the RTIC Water Resistant Duffle Bag

Interested to see how this comes out and what sizes they offer. Could use a bag like this for weekends at fish camp and/or boat bag. Looks like RTIC is taking it to the next level instead of folding.

It is a cooler. A few design changes, and they are golden. Profit erodes to minimum cost. Solid economic theory that always holds true.

There is a major difference between winning a lawsuit and settling a lawsuit.

Yea I think some people here fail to see the finer differences between forcing someone to do something and getting them to agree to do something.

On a serious note, I don't know what happened behind those closed doors, but honestly, I think RTIC may find themselves coming out much better off than Yeti when all is said and done. From what I understand, they intend to continue designing their own products at a significantly discounted rate, and their piggybacking off of Yeti and subsequent fire selling following the settlement of this suit has given them brand recognition they could've otherwise never dreamed of.
