understanding wind for fishing

We fish pretty often around chef pass and the shore of lake borge leading up to alligator bend.. I have been trying to understand how wind affects this area and others like it, but not sure I have it right.
If you have a north wind, which means the wind would be pushing water out of the marsh towards where we are fishing -- does this mean the fish will follow or just that they will stay in the marsh, but be in really shallow areas that are hard to reach?
South wind means water being pushed in means fish will follow in?

Winds and tide both move water and bait (shrimp and small fish), the BAIT can't fight the winds and tide as well as predator fish....so it's not as simple as just the wind, you have to consider tides as well.
If water is moving and clean, find the "bottlenecks" and tide lines (nervous water) and target those areas. There is no simple answer, typically water draining from marsh into bays and vice versa are good area and winds pushing bait against shorelines. But it is fishing so you just never know till you try and find the pattern the fish are doing that day and in that area...
