Looking at the following 12 gauges.

Remington 870 Express Turkey 21" barrel
Mossberg 500 Turkey 24" barrel
Winchester SXP Turkey 24" barrel

All are standard entry level around the $300 to $500 range. Any others I'm missing?

I've used the 870 for years and love it. I shot the mossberg one time...once. Won't do it again.

Of the guns listed, I prefer the 870. That said , neither of the guns listed are a poor choice.

Of those you listed, you can never go wrong with the 870.

I shoot a Stoger M3000, and use it for all bird hunting. I love it.

I shoot a Mossberg 835. Jelly head choke with heavily-shot #6's. Star dot chokes are awesome with this gun if u can still find one.
I got a Rem 870 20 ga youth model with a Truglo SSX choke and shoot Federal HW 7's. It's good out to 40 yards. I like to use it later season when it's hot and green out. Much lighter and shorter barrel.
The 835 has a forearm rattle and is heavy to carry but it kills them dead if i do my part.
