Soon as I posted this thread my Lil man came in bedroom crying about earache.

Got up early and took the other boy to the blind. Ducks were SLOW and he was dying to see somthing shot. T9 be honest I was dying to work my young pup too. So I skillet shot at a hooded merganzer and killed two with one shell. As soon as she was 20 yards from bank a group of gaddys and a second group of widgeon come in locked from high but flared on my dog. Lol. It was dead for another hour and I shot another merganzer. And again a group of gaddgaddys cam in but I took one on the first high pass this time.

Total 1 hen gaddy, three hooded merganzers. We had a blast though. He was even excited to help pick up deeks.

Then took it all home and thinly sliced the gaddy breasts and battered in seasoned ritz crumbs and fried them up along with the legs.

Well I was in a new area, first time hunted this year. The deer started coming to the acorn trees on the ridge about half hour before last light. I think I had about 8 deer around me...All does and fawns from the ones I could see.

It was hard to tell exactly how many with all of them crunching the leaves and with the low light, not being able to see all of them.

I had to get to the house so the wife and MIL could go out shopping for their deals. Ended up blowing them all out.

Good to know the low sightings of deer in the field is due to them still eating in the acorn crop.
