Hammers have them too. It just depends on which props. Def will help hole shot if you take them out. Mine is geared for top end so I actually have 6 holes in my prop to make up for it on hole shot.

Before you go to a prop shop, you need to to drive it. Trim it all the way down. Get your RPM's on take off and WOT, time to plane, etc. That will help him greatly.

yeah we really need more details from the OP to see what all he has done to see what info is useful.

I am just glad no one has mentioned putting a whale tale on it yet...

Yeah, I agree. Sounds like he is really close though. It could easily be the trim though. If I'm not all the way down, hole shot sucks large. I really need a Tempest or Trophy

That's awesome. I want to get there too. OTOH, his hole shot description is not in line with that sort of RPM at WOT. I would have expected 4,700 at best. I barely get 5,200 and my hole shot does not suck with two fisherman tackle and 375 lbs of gas.

200-300 RPM's is not the end of the world...and do we even know what the motor is suppose to turn since the OP never mentioned year or make of the 115 he has on his rig. Or did I miss that.

My motor has the dam aluminum prop on it

Can't get myseld to get a stainless prop because of the shite I run my boat through.
Everytime I'm with a friend in their boat and they hit something with their purdy stainless steel prop they always get pissed and get in a bad mood for the rest of the day because they know they'll have to send that shite in to the shop to get fixed.
When I hit something I just trip my motor up to make sure the prop and skeg is still there then take off with a big arse smile on my face.

A stainless will take a beating 100x's better than aluminum

Never owned one. I'm pretty lucky re: prop damage. Nothing to hit unless you let a friend borrow your boat who has no idea where the Red River rock jetties are.

DEPENDS
I know an aluminum prop can break if hit hard enough but I've seen way too many stainless props bend and need to be repaired where as I just say frick it with my piece of shite aluminum prop and just keep on going.
