So I got a trolling motor as a gift for my kayak. I've heard that you need to get your kayak registered once you put a trolling motor on it. Does anyone know if this is true? Also what would the process be? I bought it used so I do not have any of the original paperwork.

Thanks!

Yes, it's true, dont remember what the process was, but it was pretty easy to find online.

It's true. That's all I can contribute. Let us know when you figure it out.

Yes you must get it registered.

You really need the Manufacturers Statement of Origin, which comes with the kayak new.

Check your kayak for a Hull ID Number stamped on there.

What kind of boat and what kind of trolling motor?

You can probably get away with using the Hull ID # and a bill of sale.

Best thing to do is call greenjeans and ask.

They might cut some slack since its a kayak, or Hammertimes cousin might answer and hang up on you because its a kayak.

You can always just make one up... who'll know? I'd go the path of least resistance.

Is that required if it's used only on private land?

Didn't the law used to be if it had an engine over 10hp, hence manufacturers making 9.9s?

Who cares anyway. It's a kayak. Just find a gay GJ and start sucking his dick like normal.
