Trailer/camper title issue

I sold a 5th wheel to a couple a while back. I was contacted by the wife asking for help with the title. They never did anything with the title or bill of sale because they never intended on moving it. Well, now they want to sell it. They cannot find the title, nor the bill of sale. I don't think we have any copies of anything. I'd like to help them out, but not sure what, if anything, I can do at this point. Help?

If the vehicle is still in your name you can file for a lost title. I would have them pay for it.

Report your camper stolen and have that trash arrested

If you bought it new would the place you bought it from have a record of the title? The bill of sale is a different story but maybe ya'll had to have it notarized & they have a copy

Will have to file for a lost title which will be mailed to you then will have to transfer. Definitely make them pay the fee's, will unfortunately be two trips to the DMV or satellite location for you. Went through he same process on similar matter and used Hi neighbor on Jones creek as it was closest to the title holders house.
For future knowledge you need to make sure to get a copy of the notarized title or bill of sale. If someone were to get hurt or some legal action filed you need proof that you are not the owner of the trailer.
