You can only pic one brand, one style in one color, what do you go with?

I've had mixed results with different color top dogs and super spooks. Looking to take my topwater game up a notch.

Top Dog. It's the only topwater lure I buy anymore. Love Mirrolures hooks as well. Only one that beats them out the box is Yozurri imo. Sorry for pic size.

I like that color. It works when green/white doesn't.

The legend Theophile Bourgeois put me on some specks with this one a few years ago and I haven't looked back. Bomber Badonk-a-donk. It always the first and last one I grab.

Is that good for redfish too? Im trying to slowly put together a box of top notch lures for the rare occasions I get down that way.

If covering a lot of water with minimal grass Imy go to is a Spit'n image in TN shad color. Redfish hate it and hit it so hard.

If I'm in a pond where reds are buried in really thick grass I use a Ribbit frog. It's like having 4WD but can drop it in holes in the grass during the retrieve. Have to be patient with the hookset.

I switched to these frogs but haven't fished much since I made the switch. Looking forward to bouncing them around Delacroix grass beds

The rapalas cost a bit more but the paint job is more durable. I love the one knocker but they get a small leaking hole at the eye of the lure, and the hooks wear the paint off.

Reds love shiny gold colors, but I don't target them.

They still make those? To google I go.

To the OP: Super spook in chrome and bone. Not sure if that's the actual color name.

The billed version of this bait, the Swim'n Image, is deadly too. It's a wake bait and can be cast and retrieved with as little as 4-5" of depth of open water when reeled on a slow retrieve.

Reds will eat all topwaters. I focus more on size. interior marsh ponds I throw smaller top waters. If fishing fringe marsh that opens to gulf or islands I throw larger sizes.

I catch most of my reds on Rapala Skitterwalks and Spook One Knockers. Mostly because that's what im usually fishing trout with. Chartreuse/Bone is my go to color combo.
