Thoughts on Remington Model 783? Currently $220 at Cabelas

Cabelas currently has them for $260 with an additional $40 rebate. Seems like a steal to me. Thoughts?

truck beater, it will be fine. They are not really good guns. But like you said for $220 for a rifle you could always have in the truck for a beater it would be fine

They're rough and ugly but all the reviews I have read and heard are the same: looks like shite, shoots amazing.
They're a good bargain gun at $400. At $220 they're practically giving them away.

I guess that's the cheap model after they quit making the 710. I have a 710 and it aint smooth but its killed plenty and never failed
