Update: After all the negative reviews about Polaris I didn't wanna take a chance.

I bought a new 2017 Honda Rancher 420 4x4. I got it for $4,800 before tax & they gave me a free winch.

I have the 2017 sportsman 570. I like it a lot.

I'm a Polaris fan, but the 450 is a bad choice. It is made in the US, but the quality differemce between it and the other models are quite clear. Poor fitment.

I would step up to the 570 for much better fit and finish.

If you have an extra 1000, get the yamaha Kodiak or grizzly.

The Honda does not belong in this discussion with its 475 cc engine and 30 hp.

They have the 2017 450 on sale for $3,990 & the 570 is $4,599. So you think the 570 is the way to go? Also what's the cons with 450?

Motor isnt a proven design. Extra mount holes all over it... Which means Chinese design and make. Not a good bike. The new yamaha Kodiak 450 is of a similar problem.

For the money, the 570 cannot be beaten.

I've been hearing this enough to consider buying one myself.

Thank you for saving me from making a mistake. Do you think $4,599 for the 570 is a good buy?

I have a 2016 Polaris 450 that's just over a year old. I'll gladly sell it to you super cheap and deliver it with a full tank of gas and a case of beer. There's not enough room for me to type how much of a piece of $hit it is. Dead serious. I will never own Polaris again.

Is Polaris crap or just the 450 model?

The 450 definitely is. Honestly, I have not been impressed with a friend's 570 either. They are not designed well. A friend of mine has a service shop and it does well due to Polaris. What is your application you're using it for??

Just using it on our hunting lease. Mostly all flat land.

If you're open for suggestions I'd recommend the Honda 420. Well built bike. About 5k price range. Holds its value for years.

I'm being very honest that the Polaris has been a bad bike for me.

Where are you seeing these prices? Looks like a good deal on the 570.

You'll be happy in the long run buying Honda. I bought the Polaris for the same reason you're considering....price.

I just sold my 570 a few months back.
friends Honda could not keep up, plus it got high centered on almost any rut and I had to push him out

I rode a 450 in Wyoming last fall and it ran decent enough. They are a cheap entry level wheeler without any bells or whistles, still has a carb and not fuel injected. We put about 40 miles on it in a couple of days.

I had a sportsman 500 10 years ago. Bought it brand new and it NEVER ran right. Go through a creek.. the drive would slip. The carb literally cracked in half. Electrical nightmares. I had to wire the fan to a toggle switch to prevent over heating. Meanwhile my 1987 suzuki ran perfectly.

I don't care if polaris is currently making better ATV's. I will never own another based on the nightmare they sold me 10 years ago.

OP I think you should look into the details of their pricing a little more.

6% @ 60 months is terrible imo
