Can't post a link, in the process of running people back and forth. Lot of people in these neighborhoods.
Updated: Originally posted this sat 8/13, I do not know if there is a need for civilians any longer.

I have been told that the central area where another member had just arrived fro rescues about 30 minutes ago that all the homes in the area were clear. They were going to reroute them to Denham for rescue but instead told them they they were going to wait till morning to start back. I think they are still running rescues in other places.

I posted that on my way out yesterday, we launched at Monterey and made runs through the neighborhoods off Greenwell springs road until about 11pm. We packed it in after checking all addresses provided and picking up people wanting a ride.
I had to sit out this am because my 37week pregnant wife was not OK with be leaving while cell communications are in the shitter but our boat is still running people now.

Anyone with a boat in the Denham Area?
A friend of my wife sits with a old lady there and nobody can get in touch with them
Don't know if they've been rescued or what.

Brusly isn't in the DS area and it's not flooding.

Sorry man, I didn't run that far. The furthest we went down Greenwell Springs was Lassen drive then worked our way back through the Forest Park neighborhood. We found out pretty quick that the most effective range for our boat was only a couple of miles. We could run on plane down most of GS to get to an area pretty quick but once we loaded the boat we had to idle back. They had some large airboats that could hold 10-15 people making the further runs to Montecello which is closer to GS marine.
As far as depths go, there was one spot in front of the shopping center with the Shoppers Choice that we had to get out and push the boat (with passengers in boat)across but by the 3rd trip we were floating over it. Everywhere else on GS was at least 4-5ft deep someplaces much deeper. Plant World (not Naylors) looked like it had a couple feet in it just before dark.
Edit: all of this was Saturday Evening/Night

I am curious...from your pictures, it looks like it would be hard to tell where the street is...how do you keep from hitting all kinds of shite like fire hydrants, etc.?

I'm gonna try to get to BR tomorrow from Hammond with my duck boat and see if I can come help
Where did you launch?

Went there Saturday afternoon after seeing a Facebook post requesting boats for that area.
Drove down Monterey across Choctaw. Monterey started flooding about a 1/4 mile past Choctaw. We just drove until we could slide the boat off the trailer (EZ Slide bunks are the tits). Someone with either the PD or FD gave us a couple of addresses and a firefighter jumped in with us to start hitting those locations. It felt a little weird passing up people in need but we had to check the locations given to us first. Then we just started picking up everyone else in the area who flagged us down. By 11:30 the people visibly looking for help were starting to dwindle and the NG started rolling in with the large trucks and some smaller zodiacs. It looked like that area was pretty well covered so we loaded up to gas up and get a little rest. I really have no idea if they are still using that location or still have a need for civilians in the area. Everyone I know worked the Oneal/S.Harrell's Ferry area today.

Short answer: You don't, cars and big stuff was easy to spot but when you're pulling into people's yards to get as close as possible you are bound to hit shite (mailboxes, hurricane fences, curbs).
We had just put on a new prop last week that will need to be replaced before teal season.
We were running a surface drive, but saw a couple glass boats with outboards. Even saw 1 skeeter.

I am willing to help ride with someone. Have a buddy willing to do the same.

I heard Gator Tail is giving 50% off props if they were damaged in recovery efforts. I cant verify but i was told this yesterday

That's a pretty cool jesture if true, but definitely not necessary. We knew what we were getting into from the beginning and it was a small price to pay for the opportunity to pay forward the help someone gave my wife's grandparents getting them out of their house.

any updates as far as needing boats? Me and buddy have one and are ready to go. Don't want to head anywhere if they have enough help already.
