I agree, in part , to most of that.

Having been stationed in PCB for two years and then later logging 250 plus dives (most spearfishing) i know a little bit about sharks.
And while murky water and bait being present are factors in this , its also a set of conditions that is repeated each and every day somewhere in the GOF or Eastern shore between NC and Miami Beach.
Yet you hear about an occassional attack every couple of months.... Single atacks.
Here you are looking at 3 attacks , in 5 days, within a couple miles of each other.
Sure there are probably a couple hundred, maybe a 1,000 sharks in a stretch that size under the right conditions. Could be multiple sharks ... Could be one.
But with those conditions present along 2,000 miles of coastline on a regular basis you should have multiple attacks more frequently in various areas.
3 attacks in 5 days guys. The last two within an hour of each other. Roughly a mile apart
I'm going with a single shark that has figured out there are easier pickings other than baitfish in those waters.

Maybe. There had been fishermen chumming amongst the swimmers though. That probably has at least something to do with it.

I get everything else you're saying, but this just doesn't make sense to me. Sharks are not "manhunters," and if you've spent any measurable amount of time sharing the water with them, you're well aware of that.

I think the much more likely scenario is that for whatever reason, there just happened to be a surge in the shark population around the area at that time. Couple that with favorable feeding conditions and murky water, and you've got a recipe for multiple attacks.

Might wanna Google the coast of NC. Oak Island and Ocean Isle, where the attack happened last week, have an island between enm....Holden Beach . Think it's around 7 miles long.

In unrelated news, check out this video of a shark merking a tarpon LINK

Saw it on facebook. Sorry, I tried finding it elsewhere but couldn't. It should still work even if you don't have an account.

the water conditions are just murky.

This and low light conditions are the most dangerous. Sharks make mistakes. Unfortunately bull sharks are known to be very aggressive when attacking and the victims lose limbs.

ETA: could be a tiger shark but I'm betting it's a bull.
