Yup.

Looks much much better than when I had it

Thanks

It shot really well as purchased, but I had this project in my head and some money burning a hole in my pocket, so stock just was not cutting it.

Really nice setup! I have a KIDD lightweight 16.5" barrel on my 10/22 and love it. What kind of scope is that you have mounted?

Wow, that's pretty.

I'd never own anything like that. I'd be too afraid to put a scratch on it. And if I did ever scratch it, I'd carry around inner guilt for the rest of my life.

I'll stick to admiring.

I thought about the lightweight barrel also...probably would have been better for squirrel sniping off hand.

Believe it or not it is a BSA Sweet 22. I had a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire on it, but decided to try the BSA and I really like it. It has higher power, easy adjustments and was $49.

I did scratch it while working on it, but only I know where it is, and the guilt is overridden by the fun I have shooting it

How about you break down the price of the parts for us. I'm curious as to how you got that build to almost 1k.

Rifle: $250
Barrel: $260
Stock: $100
Bolt/extractor/pin: $110
Bolt Release: $10
Single Stage trigger job: $100
Stainless V-Block: $20
Replacement Takedown screw,
Stainless V-Block Screws,
Oversized trigger Assembly pins: $20
Glass Bedding Kit: $30
20 MOA Scope Base: $25

With the two scopes I purchased and the rings, and shipping charges, I am actually over $900.

But, I regret nothing about this project.

I just have a 2-7 power on mine right now, but I might switch to something a little more powerful. What power did you go with? Also how far have you shot it out to?

The dollars can add up quick when doing a build like this!
Base Rifle - $180
Barrel - $230
Stock - $50
Trigger - $160
Scope and rings - $200

100 yards, but the wind was killing me. With the 20 MOA base and optimal conditions, I think I can stretch to 200 yards. However, the groups are less than exciting at the longer distances.

the BSA is 6-18x (I really like it for $49 bucks. Normally I would not use BSA, but on a 22, it works well)
The Nikon is 3-9x (nothing wrong with this scope, esp. with the BDC option and Spot on App on the phone!!)

Yea at 50 yards you can cover the group with a dime. When I move out to 100 yards the group is a little bigger than quarter. Anything past 100 yards is tough.

IMO everyone should own at least one .22! You can shoot all day for pennies compared to centerfire rifles.

I agree.

When we go to the range, we start with the centerfires, but we always end up pulling out the "prove it" targets and burning through a few hundred .22 rounds trying to win "king of the range"
