Vegetation got way better towards ship channel. I’ve never seen that stuff In saltwater.. it may be fresh as hell near launch and bridge area.

West cove will be one of our next spots.. where do y’all go in there? Y’all stay in marsh or head to WC?

From the launch take the second canal on the right, follow the canal for a bit and it eventually opens up into marsh back there. Be warned though, it can get shallow on low tides.

Nice. What y’all know about Fred’s lounge area? I got the want to fish turners and that leads to it. I hear it gets real shallow... a buddy supposedly got stuck out on low tide.

Agree we gotta hit that up, like go back to Choupique but not to soon that place is an arse kicker
With the fast-moving current and being so open.
Can't think of a better place to try out rudder and peddles for the 1st time shite
without it i think i'd still be out there

I'm going somewhere next Saturday or Sunday. I think we have a cool front coming in. Sitting this weekend out.

Last time I went to West Cove, it was right before that Oct. closing date. Killed the specs. Not one red or flounder, but then again, once we found the school of specs, we no longer fished for anything else. Tide was coming out mid-morning. Wish I knew how to read tides to know when to find that again.

PAC has a tourney that Saturday I believe, so maybe Cocodrie. Unless I fish the Sunday.

How longs the trek to cocodrie compared to PAC? And what’s the best places to launch?

A little bit longer. Depending on launch point in PAC you can be fishing in literally 30 seconds

Driving time from Lafayette is actually about the same, you actually take the exact same route except instead of turning left from Prospect Blvd.(3087) onto 659 to head towards PAC, you cross over Bayou Terrebonne and turn left on 24.

As far as places to go, we went North/Northwest from Coco Marina and did ok last weekend. I think 7 or 8 reds between 3 of us and probably a dozen trout. I saw a pretty big gator back there which surprised me, first time seeing one there.
