I have an old python snakeskin, approx 60 years old that has become very brittle, it there any way to use some type of conditioner/oil to make it any more supple.

It is being used as a decorative piece and I do not want it to tear or rip as it does hold some sentimental value.

I believe you can use glycerine you get at a department store and paint it on there and it helps preserve it.

Would glycerin work for an old fish mount as well?
