Is there an outdoor range in (near) BR where one can practice?

Are you shooting slugs at a target, or do you want to shoot skeet?

Shooting buck or slugs you can go to indoor ranges like FRC and Precision (I believe).

For skeet the closest place is Hunters Run in Port Allen

Tomorrow evening, Hunters Run will have their Thursday night fun shoot. Sporting Clays is discounted and they cook supper. Theyou turn on the lights so you can shoot at night, pretty good deal.

Sherborn WMA has throwers and it's free, you just bring the clays.

If you go to Sherborn bring a buddy and a hand thrower. I went last week with some friends and only 1 out of the 4 manual throwers worked.

Good insurance - just pick one up at Academy for less than $10.
