Tangipahoa River...what is there to see?

My buddy bought a new boat and wants to ride over to Tangipahoa River this weekend because he says he's never been.
I haven't been in like 30 years.
Is there anything over there other than camps?

What type of boat...there are some nice stretches if you are padding.

Only some camps. Nothing special if you are in an outboard boat.

Nothing but camps. But what else would you see on other rivers around here? Be careful coming from the lake there is no channel and its about 3ft deep till you get to the mouth of the river

Seems like every river around here has a bar on it. Just wondered if Tangipahoa might have one.

Negative. Long ago there was a bar on the Tangipahoa a bend or two before Bedico Creek, but it shut down probably in the early/mid 90's

Ya it's right by my pawpaws camp. Sure would be nice to have a bar there, and be able to bring a slutty little river rat back to the camp.

I'll be in shell beach with the queen Friday night and Saturday so I should be able to give you a fishing report too.
