Styrofoam perogue repair?

If one was sitting on sawhorses and had a tree fall on it and crack it cleanly in half, is it reparable?

once you break styrofoam it loses all strength so no, there isnt much of anything you can do to restore it like it was.
now if the break is in half from side to side, you layer enough fiberglass on top and bottom extending about a foot passed where it broke, you can fix it.
now if the break is in half but long ways from stern to bow, if you layer enough fiberglass on top and bottom extending to cover across the entire bottom surface, and do it from both sides top and bottom, you can fix it.
but often with the amount of the work involved, its easier to just glue the old one back together and use it as a mold to build an all fiberglass perogue from scratch that will be stronger yet still be feather light

What kind of glue would you use for that?

wouldnt have to be that strong, liquid nails or any construction adhesive will do.
you just just need it to hold it together long enough so you can lay a full layer of fiberglass over the bottom and up the sides.
then flip it over and pull the broken perogue out so you can wash off any remaining wax before lighty sanding it so you can lay a few more layers of glass on the inside surface before adding the seat and inner bracing and glass all that in.
the trick is to coat the surface of your perogue with a layer of thick car wax so the new glass doesnt stick to the broken perogue. also you can use automotive bondo to smooth out the crack so its flat and smooth before you start laying fiberglass over it
fiberglassing is messy and itchy, but its really easy to do and learn

Where did you get a styrofoam pirogue?

It's not mine. But I have an interest in repairing it if possible.

It definitely sounds interesting.
And just to add, when discussing fiberglassing it, use epoxy resin. Regular resin will melt Styrofoam real quick.
