Need a new chain but stine doesn't have right one in stock. Are these brand specific or are specs specs?

Thanks.

If you can't get a Stihl chain then Oregon is about the next best you could get. What exact chain are you looking for from Stihl?

16"
1.1mm
55x
3/8p
0.043"

I found that exact one except it's a 0.05" and it's a little too wide for the bar

I'd buy a new Oregon bar to match the Oregon chains, had to do the same thing with my Husqvarna and it's odd-ball .063" gauge bar and chain.

You running a MS180? That's small chain, Oregon 90S chain with the same link count will fit.

Amazon. They'll say which saws are compatible.

Common for the bigger saws actually, the ones not typically sold in box stores.

They are not brand specific. Look into switching to Stihl RS chain (guessing you have the Micro chain now). It is the most commonly used chain for general purpose. Everywhere will have those

The stihl RS chains are amazing. Not sure if you can get them for a 16" bar though.

Guess Stihl doesn't sell bulk chain loop.

I'm quite sure OP doesn't need 25' of chain, or convincing the dealer he absolutely must have a 16" rapid super chain

They do, but almost everyone doesn't need it. The big buyers are people with mills, timber harvesters, or ones that run full skip chains a lot. Mainly people that need custom lengths though
