I drive thru some fairly deep ice/ water yesterday. It was very cold. Then hunter. Afterwards, I heard some loud grinding and wheels seemed slow to respond. Drove 3 hours home. Went thru car wash, it snowed over night and is still very cold (single digits).

Are my wheels/ bearings just frozen? Or is it power steering? The wheels are locked at the angle I parked last night and after warming up vehicle, now won’t turn.

Rub some dirt on it.

Seriously, no clue and good luck.

I have Chevy truck and sometimes the steering wheel locks up. To "free" it up, I turn the key on and then forcefully try to turn the wheel. Doing this, will unlock the wheel.

This happens a couple of times a year.

Jiggle your steering wheel hard left to right, right to left, while simultaneously jiggling your key in the ignition switch, while simultaneously patting yourself on the top of the head with one hand and rubbing your belly in a clockwise manner with your other hand while saying the Hail Mary. Good luck.

I would start the engine and let it idle until it comes to full operating temp. The heat from the engine should thaw everything under the hood enough to start moving. Maybe.
