So I thought I made out like a bandit on a $12 Daiwa reel just now at Acad. I go to switch the handle to the proper side and find that the holes are different sizes. I've never encountered that before. Anyone know if those bushings or inserts or whatever can be pulled out and switched? I have done a couple of unsuccessful google searches and found nothing. I was completely unaware that there were reels that could not be used both ways.

Yeah, I watched that. This reel doesn't seem to be like any of those. I'll just throw it away or drop it off at the new to you store.

If it's on the right side, just leave it. That's where God intended it.

God didn't make me left handed.

I work the rod with my dominant hand/arm (right) and reel with the stranger hand (left)

anything other than that is hogwash

I do that with spinning gear, but not baitcasting. It's apples/oranges.

I'm right handed and I hold my ultralight with my left hand and reel with my right.

Everybody I fish with has to say something about how it's backwards.

I don't know why they care, but my rational is that I hold both a bait caster and a spinning rod with my left hand and reel with my right.

This is exactly what I do. I've never had a reason to swap hands just because I change gear.

Might as well have it above the rod reeling backwards. So disappointed.

I'm the same way and have no idea why. And I'm right handed but when it comes to shooting...I'm a southpaw.

Don't judge. I can't help my dad was left handed. Plus I don't understand why a right handed bait caster has the reel on the right but a right handed spinner has the red on the left. I'm weird I know.
