15 to 20 minutes and I was done.

Once I found the right pond Took me 30 minutes and 2 beers of sweating my arse off to realize I was in the wrong spot.

Man I could have killed 100. Stopped at 15 and went and fed the roads.

Trying to kill some coon and hogs while I’m here. Going to be sleeping in and doing some late night thermal hunting after bird hunting the evenings.

Funny thing is I just bought my Louisiana lifetime license last week after living there for 12 years. I get to my ranch in Texas and realized I had to buy my out of state license and it was another $360 with the out of state, duck stamp and migratory bird stamp.

I’m not sure how anyone is Louisiana doesn’t have a lifetime at this point. I think my last one was $100 or $110 for the sportsman.

Lifetime was $500 LA and Texas is $1800.

shite my grandparents got mine when I was 13, I believe. Like $300 bucks. It’s paid itself over and over again across 20 years for sure.

Just got my duck stamp online, going to make a walk in the woods when I knock off work in a couple hours. Gonna try and jump up some wood du…..teal in the sloughs. Probably sit and try for some doves too, depending on where the farmers are at.

My brother is on nights tonight in Corpus and I’m supposed to be killing hogs and coons tonight but I ended up being by myself so I’m cashing in early. Got 5 people showing up tomorrow so maybe we can get a limit of doves in the afternoon and a hog or two late night.

I live in Karnes county, roughly 40 miles south of SA, and I have 5 acres myself and I'm surrounded by nothing but agriculture fields, brush, and pasture and I am seeing more birds this year then any of the previous 10 years I've lived here.

So I live in TX now, have tons of bourbon/beer/freezers full of meat/cases of shells, and am a half decent cook.

Just saying....

Just got back yesterday evening and we shot limits everyday. Killed around 200 doves. Going to try and find a few pics and wish I could do video of the birds flying.

I was down in South Texas for the dove opener and can confirm it was stupid. Never seen so many birds in my life.
