SCAM. If they only put an email address and no phone number that's usually a red flag.

I found this on Louisianasportsman.com. I emailed the person and she said she is getting rid of the ATV's due to her husband dying two years ago. She is also from Maine, which made me think. Why is a person from Maine selling stuff on a Louisiana site? She would only accept payment thorugh EBay Motors. She said the ATV's run perfectly and in good working order. She also said the shipping is included in the payment. Sounds too good to be true. I was always taught "If it sounds too good to be true", it probably is.
I had the same thing happen to me on CL. It was a year old Honda Foreman, winch, mud tires, etc. for like $1800. Woman said she lived in Minnesota and her ex, who lived down here, gave her a bunch of stuff in his will. She didn't want it and didn't want to have to ship it. Yeah right.

After talking to her a little more, she kept forgetting where she had the damn bike. Once she said it was here, another time up there, and it just kept switching up.

I ended the conversation there

Yes. I am basically the only remaining website moderator left for LASM it seems. Used to have a full crew of more there but haven't seen any of them in a while. Guess ill have to send out a big email to them all to find out what's going on.
Anyway,as has been said. Never, and I mean never purchase anything, sent money to or even respond to anyone who has anything listed for sale and only puts in a gmail address.

A gmail address cannot be linked or followed to any land based address like an email used by a service provider like Cox.

Just stay away from these people as it is Damn near a full time job for me to keep them off the classifieds section. Just press the scam button and it will get rid of them after a while.

Thanks again MoJo. I never did anything with that ad other than send her an email asking why she was selling them. It sounded to good to be true. I hope that B#tch with that ad rots in hell.

just to be clear, most of them aren't focusing on getting your money although it is a nice prize in their focus. They're after email addresses that they can confirm are real to sell to people.

By you emailing them they have confirmed you are a real person at a real email address. Look forward to scam emails in the future.
