I figured I'd show off my handy work... I was impressed with how well they came out.

Here is the run down. I bought a 4'x8' sheet of blank white election sign material. I was able to get 16 silhouettes out of one piece. Here is the pattern... The silhouettes are 24" x 12" in widest measurement terms.

After doing some figuring and buying the step stakes in bulk. I can make 4 dozen for $62, or $15.50/dz.

I plan to make that run and have 64 total with the 16 I made last night. That would put silhouettes at 17.5% of our total snow goose spread (364 total decoys).

Questions, comments, concerns or laughter are appreciated.

I would paint big boobies on them to attract the single males. They decoy much better for obvious reasons.

Look again, I'm hunting females. Those are dicks, not feeding heads.

Where did you find that 4x8 sheet and how much was it

Regal Plastics in Shreveport. $14/sheet. Thankfully the Signs Now store pointed me in the right direction after inquiring about raw materials. That's their distributor.

50 Pack of step sign stakes are $20 on ebay.

3 sheets and a pack off stakes will make 48 with 2 extra stakes. Thus, $62 to make 4 dozen. I also, hit the stakes with a can of flat black after the pic. They disappeared.

Walmart brand paint, so $1.50/can is no big expense.

Just a thought. What if you cut those stakes in half so it's only sitting on one leg... 1 stake would make 2 decoys and they would have a lot better movement. Not sure how well they would stand up on just one little pole.

Not a bad idea. I also thought about doing a 2 goose 48" arse to arse silhouette using only 1 stake.

Basically leave the two geese per level barely connected on my pattern at the tail feathers.

I was shocked how good my 1st editions came out. I put a lot of thought into it and laid it all out before making the first cut.

You ever use silhouettes?

I wouldn't go exclusive silhouette, but I think they will add good definition to a decoying bird.

I see them a lot on canada goose hunts, but not too much on snow goose spreads. I hope I'm not making a mistake by trying them, but I reckon you have to play to win.

It won't hurt. Snow geese have been killed over much much shittier white objects I'm at the point now where I'm just streamlining my spread
