What do yall think? Garter or ribbon?

I don't believe it's a garter snake
ETA...After an internet image search, I guess it is a garter snake. I always thought they were all black and yellow, but it looks like they have different colored ones.

I think people take shitty photos of snakes with 35mm cameras, print them on recycled printer paper, spill some water on them, and then wiggle them in front of an iphone camera for a photo, then upload those images to the internet.
But it's an eastern garter snake

Mung's latest dumbassery. Don't remember if I posted,

That's about what I would classify it as.
That snake that size is probably the only one that I ever think of when I'm tromping through the woods. Perfect one to get you. The rest you can either see, or don't have to worry about.

I would not have been opposed to kill. Area with lots of foot traffic from people who are not very wood aware. It was released unharmed to bite someone later.

Had one of those bite me on the ankle after it fell from the garbage can lid. Freaked out like a little girl. Then caught it.
Ribbon/ Garter snake.
Ribbon/ Garter snake.

There's nothing wrong with your camera. You will likely be relieved to know that it's operator error and not the camera's fault.

Eastern Striped Mamba. Invasive snake, highly venomous but failrly friendly after a few beers.
