Great bait for bass as is the skitter pop. I prefer the skitter pop over the pop R every time too.

Use a shad color and pull in either walk the dog pattern or an erratic 3 pause 1 pause 4 2 pause repeat pattern.

Use mono not flurocarbon . Good luck

You walk the pop?

I been using the Pop r here recently and can stir them to hitting the surface all around after a while but they won't hit my lure

Red shad worm still my best lure

ETA, also, was arguing with my buddy earlier about flourcarbon for a topwatr lure. He says it can't matter much but I always feel like it's too heavy

Mono for treble hooked topwater lures for sure. Floats better and had more stretch so you won't rip the hooks out on the hookset

I'm not much of a fan if the pop-R. Doesn't dart enough for me. Yellow magic is definitely the most successful popper I've used but they don't give em away.

And like BP said I kinda walk the popper sometimes too. Play around with it and see what they want.
