Hung a TFO rod under a boat cleat on Tuesday morning and snapped it about a foot above the handle. Admitting guilt and not manufacturer's defect, I dropped it of UPS ground on Tuesday afternoon to Dallas with a $35 check.
UPS man just delivered the new rod after lunch today. (2.5 days total time)
That's my first experience dealing with TFO and their warranty. I'm stunned at the speed, and ease of transaction. Good stuff.
TFO is Temple Fork Outfitters. The rods are designed by Gary Loomis, previously of the high caliber rod brand G. Loomis.

Similar experience with lews. They charge $20 though. The guy waved that for me last time because he took 2 days to respond to my email even though I was in no rush. jist had to cut the rod and mail them the model number portion. Daiwa on the other hand wants you to mail the whole rod just so they can look at it first.

Snapped a fly rod back in 2012. Fishing in January and my rod was all iced up. Snapped when I set the hook into a giant rock
Had exact same experience you did.

TFO has best warranty in the biz. Both fly and conventional rods.
