In my idiocy days, I could sling a bottle over the roof and pop those little 6 inch signs at 70.

Didn't even equate that to shooting from a hello

I'll tell you the guy shooting did dang well to hit him once in the leg in the 10-15 shots I saw him take considering it was open sights, semi auto, and no tracers. They were by no means traveling parallel to each other constantly either, the copter was flying in all kinds of circles.

I think the correct answer really is to lead or follow by less than a foot at that distance. If you shot once leading by 12 inches, once right at him, and once following I'd bet you hit him at least once if all shots were true. Once the distance increases to say 500 yards or 1500 ft high theres so many different variables: wind speed, chopper speed, truck speed, copter down wash, etc. Gotta have an automatic with tracers.
