Seat Base Plate Plastic Bushing Swelling

Anyone have an issue with the plastic bushing swelling making it impossible to insert seat or if seat is already inserted making it difficult to remove and preventing swivel?
I have had this happen a couple of times. Had to remove base plate and drill out bushing with a wood bit.
Any suggestions on prevention or other recommendations?

the ones i have had have been teflon, not plastic. any petroleum based product will make teflon swell.

I bought a boat used. Both the front and back were swollen stuck. Got them out eventually and replaced them. No problems since.
