Hey guys, can y'all recommend a scope under $200 for a youth 7-08?

On optics in general? I think most people regret spending less, not more, on optics.

Vortex Diamondback. Very nice scope for the money. Throw some Burris signature rings on it and you're ready.

Glad to see this posted. I've got a Youth 7-08 for my son that needs a scope. He's 3 1/2 but has a brother being born the month. I'm thinking I need to make this happen before I have to buy little brother one.

You will never go wrong with a gold ring unit. My family (4 guns) all exclusively shoot the 7mm-08 for WT deer, great round. We prefer Leopold glass. I have heard good thinks about the Vortex units. I have also heard a couple of failures on the Nikon units. Good luck.

not really just in general, chatrabbit. I was really looking for thoughts on the leupold vx1 as a scope in the $200 range for a youth 7/08...

Decided on the Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 because it's on sale for $149 at Cabelas

Nikon Prostaff ,Leupold VX1, Vortex diamondback...i've got a redfield revolution that i really like as well for around that price.

Can't go wrong with any of these.
