Scope advice

I'll be finishing a 556 pistol upper soon. I'm moving my 1-4 viper from my 16" AR to this one. I'm looking at the Accupower 3-9 to replace it. I don't see it getting talked a lot on here, or really many places. It looks pretty rugged and something I'm looking for. I hear Meopto's name being thrown around on here for scopes under $1000. How would it compare? Probably looking to spend $800 or less. I also don't mind waiting a little and saving for a better scope for a little more. I have a backup scope to use in the mean time so I don't need it tomorrow. Whats the OB thoughts on any other scopes to look at? Will be used to do some distance shooting and night hunting with my wicked light.
