Yeah because the current law is certainly stopping criminals from illegally obtaining weapons...
Its all about the gov getting their cut man. If they make us all get universal checks, then the gov will get the $20/30 a pop as the fee to perform the check, as well as register the rifle to the person. Its ridic.

I sent an email to Landrieu basically telling her she will not be re-elected in LA if she votes for gun ban. Rand Paul said that they will filibuster anything that comes through the senate, so I don't think it's much of a concern with current admin (if he speaks the truth).

What they are calling the "gun show loophole" is private person-to-person sales. Since "loophole" has become a perjorative (e.g. "tax loophole") the lefties use it as a tool to demonize both private sales and gun shows. They reason that it's a "gun show loophole" because it's easy to depict on the news people walking into a gun show with their own gun and selling it to someone else without a background check. The fact that the individual is not a dealer and is a private citizen goes conveniently unmentioned.
