Satsuma tree branch split, should I cut it off?

3yr old tree; didn't realize the branches would split this early since the fruit aren't that big. Do I need to cut it off now? I put a support under the branch now but not sure if it will live. It is the biggest branch on the tree unfortunately.

Cut it and It'll boost growth with the rest of the tree. You should remove any fruit for the 1st couple of years so the tree gets strong. At least trim the longer branches so that doesn't happen.

I would. If the fruit is on the ground chances are they will rot before ripen. Get you some fruit tree spikes and fertilize as directed.

you can cut it (at an upward angle) and any limb that is pointing down to the ground.
also you have some pest eating your leaves and a few infected so you need to get a spray bottle and get some fungicide LINK to spray them.

I actually saw a wasp munching down on a leaf today. Had no clue wasps ate leaves
ETA: And cutting at an upward angle...does that mean the angle of the inner branch will be pointing up or down?

take your pruning loppers and position the handles near the trunk or inside of your tree. cut at an upward angle.
the cut branch will (should be) pointing up
