Damn if I didn't have one already I would pick one of these up. Every firearm collection should have a 15-22 in just for the pure fun of shooting this rifle.

highly recommend everyone own an MP 15/22 however the MLOK handguard/etc really don't offer much on this rifle that the base model can't do. Loading up a light rifle with crap changes its utility
I just put a cheap scope and an AFG2 on mine and it's perfect
with a suppressor it's the most fun you can have with pants on

While I agree with you in principle, there is added utility if you're already using MLOK accessories. You can then configure the rimfire as a training platform and get even closer to your main rifle setup. A lot of folks have one of these tacticool .22s for exactly that purpose. I would still lean Ruger, because I already have a 10/22 and the magazines (and other internal parts) are compatible. However, if that weren't the case, this would be another plus for the M&P.

I'm going with Magpul M-LOK on my current build. It's a good balance. I was never a fan of the quadrail. If it negatively impacts what I can do with optics, I may rethink it.

Can anyone comment on what MLOK panels you recieve with the rifle? I know it says you only get a 2inch, but I see where some guys are getting 6s.
Also, what rail style they are?
Is there anything that needs to be done to this rifle out of the box? I typically disassemble, hose down with safari charlie, reassemble, shoot the piss out of it, disassemble and clean, and oil my wear points with 0w20 from a dropper upon reassembly.

Any time someone mentions the 15-22 (which is a great rifle) I always tell them to also take a look at the GSG-522. It's a 22LR MP5 clone and it's just as fun if not more fun to shoot than the M&P 15-22. I love the manual of arms of the MP5. The H&K charging handle slap is the coolest official manual of arms move in all of firearms. And the GSG522 is the cheapest way to get it

Ibhave one with the built in carry handle from Mossberg. I have an old scope ID like to out on it. Anyone but the rail that mounts on the carry handle? I can find them for its big brother but not this one without dropping like $40. Surely there is a cheaper one.
Thanks
