What safety harness system are y’all using?
I used to not wear one but started last year with a Gorilla harness. Pretty comfortable but looking to see what y’all using.

I’ve had a Muddy harness for several years. Really like it. I had a vest style HSS for a little while but it was too hot and really uncomfortable. I hated it. I switched from that to the standard strap style HSS and it was stolen out of the back of my truck. I like the Muddy better than that one. The straps are thinner and it’s less bulky.

I use a rock climbing harness. Comfortable and out of the way. And if you fall you can easily self rescue. I never used one because I couldn’t stand the regular vest type. Last 3 years I’ve been pretty good about using this one.

I've been wearing a gorilla one for a while and it's light and comfortable, but falls right in the perfect spot to block access to my pants pockets when sitting. That's a bit annoying.

Yep rock crawling one. It is great. When I get tire of sitting I can hang like the saddle guys.

You may know this, but these harnesses all have expiration dates. Might want to check and make sure yours is up to date.

Thanks for the info. Didn’t know that. I’ll check mine out.

Can you expand on this? How do you tie off when seated? It'd be nice to use my climbing gear instead of the full body harness

Rock Climbing for me. I use a petzl pandion, i think it's called.
This guy does a good demo.
youtube vid
Here’s mine with lineman’s loop. Ran 1” tubular webbing through 2” tubular webbing. Works great for hanging stands

most hunters use the Alpine Bod harness. IT is extremely minimal, packs into a small mesh bag, but it isnt he most comfortable if you are going to use it to actually rock climb. but great for wearing for safety.

I'm a saddle hunter now, never going back. Game changer

I used the one that came with my Summit Climber for years. It was actually a good harness. Then I switched to a rock climber's style after missing a shot opportunity with my bow because my drawing arm was stopped by the tree tether. After spending 4 years or so in the rock climbing style, I have since gone back to a regular full body and don't miss the rock climbing harness.
To me, the rock climbing stile prohibits your freedom of movement and increases your rotational movement over a full body. This is because it attaches to the front of your waist. You have to remember to always spin around facing towards the tree to change position in order to shoot. You can't just stand in your stand and do 360's like with a full body. If you go too much one way you are stuck and have to completely reverse and spin all the way around. This is too much extra movement and has cost me more shot opportunities than the full body ever did.
Now, I just remember to make sure my tree tether is as high as I can get it with my full body harness for 3 reasons. 1 - so it doesn't block my draw arm. 2 - to aid in getting back in the stand after a fall. 3 - allows for maximum freedom of movement.
My current full body harness is the X-1 by Hunter's Safety Systems. It is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it. It tends to tangle a bit too much, and it didn't come with a rope style tree tether so I had to purchase that separately. The rope style is a must have. It allows for much easier and faster ascending and descending when in a climber or going up climbing sticks. It also lets you set your tether much higher above you for the reasons mentioned above.
The rock style harness I have is a 20ftUp. I am pretty sure they have gone out of business since everyone figured out that their miracle harness was just an arborist/rock climbing style harness.

I wear my gorilla over my long underwear. Outer layer pants and jacket goes over the harness and I have access to all my pockets.

Just like kids car seats. Obviously if they are cared for properly they are safe for much longer. The expiration date is just simply a CYA for lawsuits.
