Cross the street neighbor was mowing yesterday evening right before dark and threw a rock across the street and blew out my rear window on the Tundra...this is the one that powers all the way down and over looks the bed...
they've done fine work on my vehicles windshields before but never had anything more than that done...

thoughts...

said he would...regardless I need it fixed pretty quick...I have a $100 deductible...
I think if he covers that I'm good as it's a hazard and It could have been me...
not sure where the rock came from...the yards are established grass...parish did some work few months ago and placed "speed bumps" all over the street which left small chips of concrete in the edges of yards where they placed them...maybe came from that...who knows...

I have same truck, and I would probably bring it back to Toyota for replacement. I wouldn't think you'd be stuck with safelite. I would want to know it was done right.

If you like your neighbor I would just pay the $100 and move on. shite happens unfortunately.

yes...it does...and he (neighbor) just came by to see what needed to be done...
I told him it's already set up to be replaced early next week as they are waiting on the OEM window to come in...

it's a road hazard anyway...as you said "shite happens"...

I would bring it back to Toyota. Windshields are one thing, power windows are another. Not that the guy won't be capable, he very well may be, but they definitely will be at the dealership.

He's gonna have to rip out the interior, right?

Not sure I would let satellite do that type of job.

Biggest problem I have seen with auto glass is incorrect sealing around windshields. Since that is not an issue in this case, I wouldn't really have a problem with Safelite doing it.

Safe lite will do it right. I believe they would turn down the job if they couldn't.

no, they have access thru a panel behind the back seats which fold out of the way...

after just speaking with the technician I think they will be fine...brought it to them to assure with the weather it's not going to get any water in it till they get the new window in...Lucky their shop is close...no charge to place a temp plastic window in and seal the weather strips ...

thanks for the responses guys...
