Making the switch to the saddle this year and looking for a platform.

Seems like everyone is making them now and most seem reasonably the same.

Currently I'm leaning towards the Cruzr Seeker, mostly due to the inclined front

I use the Tethrd Predator XL. In all honesty it looks pretty similar to the one you posted.

I use the one that connects to the top of the stick ladder. Made by Muddy or Hawk, I can’t remember.

I've thought about getting one of those as well and setting my main platform level to it so I could have more room to move around, but I don't know

I'm sure I'll tinker with my set up a lot this year

Carrying two platforms kind of defeats the purpose of hunting from a saddle IMO. I hunt from a saddle so I can carry a little as possible and walk farther distances.

I have a trophy line mission and tethrd one.

Will say the trophy line seems more sturdy, but the tethrd is definitely lighter.

Tethrd predator platform. I put para cord around the edges so I can feel where my feet are.

Are saddles more beneficial if you hunt public land over private??
Why not just put out multiple lockons and hunt them if you are on private,

Every morning I wake up about 3 hours before daylight and walk outside and smell the wind. Depending on what it tells me, that’s where I will hunt. I will barefoot walk in and find the exact tree that is harvesting the smell of the wind to protect me from the deer. Its lazy to have pretermined stands. The saddle allows me the freedom and weight to barefoot walk to any tree on gods land he has given me to harvest my animal

Real talk I sit in a box and smoke them with a rifle

I mean...except for the barefoot stuff, this isn't too far off

Mainly public land. And it easier to get down and move because of the wind when you are in a saddle versus lock-on

My thoughts as well. I use a ring of steps because it allows me to move around the tree, and is light, easy to pack in, and relatively easy to set up.

Pretty much has been my experience but I missed a layup shot towards the end of last season that was straight behind me. I was using a small platform and couldn’t get a good footing. After this experience, I modified a microlite m7 by taking the seat off and added a versa button. It’s light but a larger foot print. For me, I think this is should be a good compromise. I only used it this way once, last hunt of the year, which was an all day sit in the winter storm we had and I liked it.

I appreciate light weight and efficiency but if I can’t execute the shot then it’s not worth the trade off for me.
