Looks like a good value on a decent gun.

Any experiences with one?

That's a good looking gun.

Eta: Wait... will I get banned by the forum nazis for posting a gun without a disclaimer or something?

Good shooter 1911's. Armscor has been making 1911's for decades and they know what they are doing.

My neighbor bought one, then handed it to me with 300 rounds of ammo. He asked me to bring it to the range and break it in next time I went. 300 rounds and not a single hiccup right out the box! I didn't even take the slide off and oil it before shooting.

I'd say it's a solid firearm.

I have the cheap GI version with wood grips. 100% reliable.

Armscor is actually the largest maker of 1911 in the world. While I do not have one nor have I even shot one, all of the reviews that I have seen are very positive and it seems to be a very good value.

The SR1911 is easily the best value American 1911 available right now. Bang-for-buck, it's tops. Here's my review of it:

Ruger SR1911 - Affordable American 1911 Horsepower

Rock Island makes nice 1911s no doubt. But you'll see cheaper fitment, cheaper finishes, cheaper sights, and cheaper magazines, generally. You won't get the highest quality of everything by getting a RI. It'll work no doubt - they're reliable guns. Just that you get more of the nice features when you drop a bit more and get something like the Ruger.

I have never heard anyone regret the money spent on a 1911 so take that for what it's worth.

One of my friends won one recently at an NRA banquet. I think its the cheaper version. It shoots pretty sweet, but is definitely no frills.

I'd buy one.
