I just went to the TXDOT site and their map shows Hwy 63 is closed from Jasper to the Sabine River.

I normally go through Beaumont to Vidor and take 12 to 87 norht to Burkeville. In Burkeville I take a right on 63 for maybe 1/2 a mile or so to 692 that goes to the dam.

Has anybody driven 693 lately and know if the small stretch in Burkeville is open?

This is in LA just on the other side of the Sabine River bridge at Burr Ferry.

If you turned up North while still in TX, I'd think you could wiggle in the back way and pop out at the dam. I don't know if the river flooded that side though. Seems to be a little hilly on the TX side.

Damn, Thanks. I'm going to call the gas station in Burkeville in a while to find out how it is on the Texas side.

Had to drive to Jasper from Toledo Town this past Friday because throttle cable broke.
Anyway, took the southern route across the dam going to jasper. Roads were clear but took about an hour and a half. Took the midlake route back to toledo town and crossed Pendleton bridge and was much quicker.
I did see a road closure somewhere near Burkeville though

FYI, the person at the Burkeville Shell station that I spoke to said the road is open from Jasper to Burkeville. But only to Hwy 692 - the cutoff to the dam. Right after 692 the road is closed and you can't get to Louisiana that way.
